Laganas is located on the South coastline of Zante (Zakynthos) and is considered as the most famous and busy resort of the island. Is one of the most renowned vacation places and it is particularly popular to youngsters as well as families.

Laganas is home to the largest beach on Zante, with a length of 9 km. It is also known as the place where the endangered Caretta-Caretta turtles lay their eggs, and for that reason Laganas beach is a part of the National Maritime Park of Zante.

In Laganas Golf is found the islet of Pelouso. The islet is beautiful and untouched, slightly mountainous with dense vegetation and rocky shores. The island belongs to the National Marine Park and so navigation is forbidden in this area and you cannot stay on the islet after sunset.

What you should always remember is that Laganas Beach is protected by Greek and International legislation as a birthplace of the endangered species of loggerhead turtle Caretta-Caretta since Laganas sandy seashore is commonly used by them to lay their eggs on. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you are very aware of your surroundings. Explore the Zakynthos Marine Park on a glass-bottom boat tour and admire loggerhead sea turtles.

Laganas resort offers quit a plethora activities and water experiences such as paddle boat trips, motor boat rides, kayak excursions, SUP, scuba diving and snorkeling. You can enjoy an excursion, with glass bottom boats, to Marathonisi islet.
